The following regulations according to the German laws governing professions particularly apply to public accountants:

  • German Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO)

Professional indemnity insurance

We have professional indemnity insurance coverage with Zurich Insurance Zurich Insurance plc NfD, Platz der Einheit 2, 60327 Frankfurt am Main.

Territorial scope of the professional liability insurance for auditors:

Germany, other European countries, Turkey and the states on the territory of the former Soviet Union including Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. For the countries not mentioned above from business auditing activities if the assignment is based solely on German law from business assistance in tax matters relating to the tax law of countries not mentioned above if the assignment is based solely on German law. Worldwide for liability claims arising from activities carried out via branches, branch offices or other advisory offices abroad, up to a maximum of the statutory minimum sum insured.

Territorial scope of the professional liability insurance for tax consultants:

Germany, other European countries, Turkey and the states on the territory of the former Soviet Union including Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Worldwide for liability claims arising from the violation or non-observance of foreign law, insofar as they have arisen in the course of business assistance in tax matters relating to the tax law of these countries and the assignment is based on German law. The insurance cover does not apply to liability claims arising from activities carried out via branches, branch offices or other advisory offices abroad.

Territorial scope of professional liability insurance for lawyers:

Germany, other European countries (the insurance covers liability claims in connection with advising and dealing with European law). Claims against the policyholder before non-European courts are also insured. The insurance cover does not apply to liability claims arising from activities via law firms or offices established or maintained in other countries.
